“A garden is a personal space that calls for a bespoke, collaborative process”
All designs begin with a complimentary 30min meeting, either in person or online, to discuss your ideas and to ensure that I’m the right person to take your project forward. Once agreed, most briefs follow the process outlined below:
Phase One: Design Concept
Starting with an on-site consultation to take a detailed brief and site analysis and (for larger gardens) an independant site survey, I will produce a Design Concept including project inspiration and overview, environmental considerations, scaled concept plan, hard-landscaping and planting suggestions, and any sketch views/illustrations as needed.
Phase Two: Master Plan
At this stage we finalise the design, taking in to account any minor changes from the concept phase and including decisions around material choices, construction and finishes. I will produce a scaled Master Plan as well as landscaping specifications, setting out plans and construction drawings as needed to communicate the design accurately to your chosen landscaper.
Phase Three: The Build
The design is handed over to your chosen landscaper. I am available for site visits and project monitoring to ensure a smooth and accurate build.
Phase Four: Planting
At this stage I like to meet to re-establish the brief, specifically looking at planting choices, colours, textures and structure. From this I will produce a comprehensive planting plan detailing species, size and quantity, as well as sketch views/illustrations as required. Once you have approved the plan I can source plants from my trusted suppliers and arrange for them to be installed.
Phase Five: Your Completed Garden
Handing over a beautiful new garden for my clients to enjoy is the best part of the process! I like to ensure that you not only end up with a beautiful finished product, but that you have the support you need to look after it and make it thrive. I can a produce comprehensive maintenance schedule, put you in touch with experienced gardeners and I am always available to my clients for advice should they need it.
